Are you a busy Mom?

Haha, Mama and the verb “busy” seem to be synonymous. You are amazing Mommy!  Please let me encourage you today, to strive for fitness by doing the following!

Do what you can…

Do whenever you can…

Just do fitness for you!

I’d like to address something, fitness is a journey for everyone, not just “fit” people.

I have a fault of comparison to someone who is notably more physically fit then myself.

Do you know how I keep this fault in check? One I like to celebrate others wins and Two I strive to stay in competition with myself!

My workout routines have varied based on what would work for my family:

Pre-Kids: I went to the gym!

Prenatal: I road my bike,

went to the gym,

and or stuck to home workouts.

Postpartum: home works worked!

Workouts with toddler-elementary age kids:

I’ve found that gyms which offer childcare can be a game-changer, in regards to my family’s fitness routine…

Kids and Parents can get an hour of play in, for the win!

Start with that first step!

For example in the midst of your busy day, notice the opportunity where you may get an extra step in….does your office building have stairs and and elevator?

That’s an easy fitness minded choice: Take the stairs, when you can!

Get your steps in, Girl!

In those early years with little ones, as you may have experienced, babies schedules come first, this is why it is important to be flexible with your fitness goals, with kids. You may get into the first five minutes of a workout, and the baby needs your time and attention for a feeding, diaper change, hug, etc. etc. 🙂

During this stage I opted for home workouts most, because a home setting allows you to be flexible to be able to do what is best for you and your family at a moments notice; while returning to your “home workout” when the time is right!

Give yourself grace,

the round-the-clock constant care for your little someone, may only happen for a sweet season.

Dr. Kenneth Cooper the father of aerobics, stated that “the optimum workout would be more like 30 minutes, three to four times a week.”

A period of exercise does not have to be lengthy to see notable results! Consistency is key, so you can keep your workout short.

(Important: Someone who is pregnant, recently postpartum, has a medical condition, or isn’t accustomed to vigorous exercise should get appropriate medical guidance before vigorous workouts.)

Please remember that staying flexible with your fitness goals, can help your fitness goals to more easily fit in your family’s schedule.

So let’s Get It Mamas!

And as Always,

Please Take Care,

~Ray
